Food Justice

In 2010 we began to formalize our 5 years of Food Justice work by expanding our DTES Right to Food programming. The Right to Food philosophy is the Food Advocacy framework which integrates the work of our current Food Activists and former Nutritional Nexus Coordinator, including the launch of our draft DTES Food Charter and all things legal and policy related where the Right to Food is concerned.

Benefiting from our own weekly Right to Food programming at the NH and our involvement as co-leader of the DTES Kitchen Tables Project, we have created Food Street Theatre, Nutritional Bingo, Food Gestures and 7 mobile Right to Food Murals, each representing on of the 7 Food Solutions which were identified by the community during Phase 1 of the DTES Kitchen Tables Project.

We will update this site as the work unfolds and gains complexity.
