All Purpose Spray Cleaner
- 1/2 teaspoon washing soda
- 2 teaspoons borax
- 1/2 teaspoon liquid soap or detergent
- 2 cups hot water
- a few drops essential oil of your choice
Combine the washing soda, borax and soap in a spray bottle. Pour in the hot water [it will dissolve the minerals], screw on the lid and shake to completely blend and dissolve. Add a few drops of your favourite essential oil – peppermint or lemon are options. Spritz every 6 inches or so of surface once or twice, wiping off the cleanser with a rag as you go. For tough dirt, leave the cleanser on for a few minutes before wiping it off. Shake the bottle each time before using.
Scented Scouring Powder
1 cup baking soda : 1/4 cup borax
Baking soda is a mildly abrasive cleanser that deodorizes as it cleans. You can also add a couple of drops of your favourite essential oil.
Pour baking soda mixture into a container with a perforated lid. Add a couple of drops of essential oil and shake. Lightly sprinkle on surface and scour with a sponge. Rinse off.
