Accountant (Part-Time Position)

Job Summary/Duties: 

We are looking for a bookkeeper to work with us on a contract basis and will be responsible for the following:

  • Processing payments
  • Processing payroll twice a month and submitting all remittances on time
  • Prepare the financial statements on a monthly basis
  • Provide a summary of payments made during the month
  • Accumulating financial information for inclusion in the reporting to our funders

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience in non-profit accounting;
  • Thorough knowledge of, and experience with, preparing Financial Reports for funders including VCH, BC Gaming, COV and Foundations;
  • Excellent capacity to communicate Accounting needs to staff and Board of Directors;
  • An inherent sense of beauty and fun;
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize work and meet deadlines;
  • Ability to function as a member of a team and work cooperatively with other team members.

Position Details: The time requirements vary but on average, 5 to 10 hours/month is required. We are offering a rate of $30hour. You will have to be flexible to accommodate requests as they arise.
